UK edition for '90 1000f ??

[align=left]Hello all, new to the group! I am looking at a 1990 cbr 1000f but it is a "UK special order edtion"? What should I beware from this if anything, if anyone knows? I owned an '89 cbr600, sold it, miss it, so I'm looking at this one now. Thanks for any input.

Hi Jonesy39, and welcome to the Forum !
To my knowledge there was no such thing as a special UK edition of the !000F.
What "special" colours does it have ....? Post a pic please.

Hi,
Could it possibly have been ordered as a special for USA, cos the UK ones didnt have all of the emissions stuff on? Maybe then shipped back, which is why they are calling it a UK special? Dunno, just a thawt...... Buy it though, you wont be disappointed....

RE: UK edition for '90 1000f ??

Thanks everyone for responding so quickly. I'm told by the current owner that the UK edition he thinks has to do w/ the color of the bike, which is the red/white/blue. However, I've seen other CBR's w/ the same color scheme such as the 89 cbr600 I sold[sm=boohoo.gif]last year. From what he knows, his friend bought it new in '92 from a local bike shop, so maybe it's possible that it was special ordered, or maybe Honda had an excess of bikes and shipped them wherever they would sell. Either way, it sounds that it sat at this shop for over a year before purchased new. I heard from somone that European sport bikes for sometime were limited up to a certain HP, and that it could be possible that this bike has less HP than the American ones? Thanks guys for the advice, and I hope to land this one and get out riding soon! Here's the info listed on the bike:
LIMITED EDITION SPECIAL ORDER UK EDITION..SUPER CLEAN,ADULT OWNED AND DRIVEN...26000 ORG.MILES...GARAGE KEPT.LESS THAN 1500MILES A SEASON...NEEDS A NEW HOME..NOT FOR THE FAINT AT HEART..CALL 716-510-0214..ASKING $3150, MAKE ME AN OFFER

Nice bike, but nothing unique about it. Many Forum members have them in R W B. Go to
www.bikepics.com
Look at all the CBR's.[:-]
also - check previous posts " have you got the cleanest CBR ?:)"
$3150's too much, 1000Fking's selling one for $2300.........

RE: UK edition for '90 1000f ??

Thanks Shadow. I was going to make an offer of $2500, but maybe I should either go lower or look around a bit if the seller doesn't come down. I didn't think the red/white/blue was for UK only as I've seem a couple around also. Hopefully the gauges are km only?

My California model has a speedo in miles, with a secondary in KPH, smaller, inside it.
See attached, sort of....:) If it's a Brit bike, should be the same.
