Took the big gal' apart today!
I got my bike cheap, and I got what I paid for... so, time to pull it apart and leave it in a million pieces
Here's how it USED to look like, about the same as when I got it;
I grew really tired of the extreme bright yellow, so that's gotta go!
I was thinking of a mainly black bike with a dark red that fits with Honda.
- gloss red: frame, swing arm, front wheel (with black rim stripe).
- gloss black: rear wheel (with red rim stripe), fuel tank with red Honda wings, lower fairing with red HONDA letters, rear seat, front and rear mud guards, engine, and various bits n pieces.
Then there are four new K&N pods to replace the four cheap mesh filters, I've got a stock manifold with twin exit and two Laser oval carbon silencers, a set of performance clutch plates (just friction plates though), and will give it a full service.
How disassembly looked like;
And I'm going to try and fix her up on a tight budget, will be doing everything myself, except for sandblasting of the frame, that paint is so bad that I can't fix it with sanding paper and a bit of bondo here and there

To be honest, I only got tired of the yellow because it gets so dirty so easy; and I hate the yellow checkers and "lightning bolts', I like my ride to be that beautiful lady (we all know one! haha) who stands out of the crowd because she's got class, not because she's wearing bright clothes showing too much leaving nothing for your imagination LOL.
Maybe I'll just keep the same paint scheme I suggested in my first post, but were there is 'red' fill in żellow'... so yellow frame, swingarm, front wheel and small decals.
Hard decision!
I do know that Honda once used a black with yellow paint scheme in the eighties, it was on an old Honda MT-5 I used to own... so it would be correct for my sc21.

Wow! Stefan you got really busy!! Looks like you've got a nice big work area, I'm jealous. My garage is so crammed with tools 'n' stuff there's barely enough room to work around the bike.
What ever colour scheme you go with, I'm sure you'll be happy, but like Steve (Classic) I looked at the first two pics and thought she looked good. I guess the yellow is growing on me. But if you can afford to paint it on your budget, it'll be more of a personal thing for you. I can sympathise with the yellow getting dirty quickly though, having white wheels, it's just the same.
How long you looking at to get her up and running again? New season is on the way, I'd be panicking already!

Hey:
Stefan2m, I agree with the rest on the nYellow it looks very good, I would keep the frame yellow, paint the engine black, then highlite some of it with polished alloy areas, put A wider CBR900RR rear wheel/ a CBR600F3 rear brake setup and a 90'sVFR front wheel either in yellow or black with a yellow stripe, leave the yellow checkers, get rid of the Lightning bolts and go with yellow Honda wings, and leave off the front zig bolts on the fender, paint the fork bottoms black and be done. It would look classy but still look way different than any other CBR1KF. Just a thought, I really like the way it looks and think those mods would be not very expensive but change it to a more classy look than it had. Good luck I am waiting to see the final look you go with.
