Default Thanks for the advice! I bought the bike (see pics)

Well, when I wasn't sure about the price, many of you spoke up and told me to go for it so I did. I bought this 1990 CBR1000F with 5,900 miles and SUPER clean for $2800. I paid $700 for new tires, 4 carb cleaning/tune, all new fluids, complete serviceand a safety inspection. I picked it from the shop on Monday 4/28 and I already put 500 miles on it. It only has two flaws on it.

You check out all of the photos in my album at:

My brother in law bought my "plan B" bike, It is just as cleanand it wasroad ready. The guy's reserve was never met, but we went to his home (in the middle of nowhere)and bought it, paid $2800 and itcame with a bunch of new parts. You might recognize theebay add. I forgotto take a camera, but when he comes over for mothers day, I will take pics of the twobikes together.

Congratulations.Three years ago I gave $3500 for a '91 with 32,000 on the clock and then had to give it a valve job and tires along with fluids & etc.. You done good. Of course, here in the middleof Montana there weren't, and still aren't, a plethora of CBR's for sale and I felt lucky to find one within 20 miles of home.

Wow i must say its like direclty from factory line

one thing i dont understand. How you get those bikes with so low mileage and so sheap price?
I mean i bougt my 89 bike last year with 49 000 miles on it and paid allmost the same price[&:]
And my bikes was not that good condition.

And another thing is where you find out those guys who buy themselves a bike, but dont use it, coz lets face it 90 bike and only 5,900 miles ( it makes only a bit more than 320 miles per year) - i ride with summer more than 7000 miles

Anyway i want to find bike like that too, it would be a great sister to my cane

Thank you everyone for the comments. The guy I bought it from was the original owner and I think he was so proud of it that he was affraid to ride it. He commented that he had crashed three of his previous bikes. The one my bro in law bought off ebay was from the second owner, he had it for 2 years and according to the paperwork and DMV he only put 18 miles on it. He was fairly short maybe 5'6". I think it was too big for him both height and weight. Not insulting him, just can't figure out why you would buy a bike for $3500 keep it for 2 years, put 18 miles on it and then sell it for $2800.

I can't figure out how to get the pictures to show up in the post. O well.
