RE: Tank Bags
Wont be cheap, but RKA Luggage - www.rka-luggage.com - makes high quality stuff. I've been using one of their tankbags and soft luggage systems since 1996 and still going strong. Quality gear - and if you get "extra" mounitng kits the bags swap easily between multiple machines. I've got mounts on both CBR's and a VFR and just attach bags as appropriate.

I have a used magnetic tank bak that I got for $20 and it's great, I'd definatly recomend a magnetic one but motorcycle luggage isn't cheap. I did see a Bell tankbag at Wall Mart for $25 or so I think. That's the cheapest decent bag that I've found.
Saw some stores on ebay too but don't know about the quality

RE: Tank Bags
I have just replaced my magnetic tank bag with the same one. The zipper on the old one gave out. This one is large enough to put either the dark or clear face shield for the full faced helmet in up front and still get my sweatshirt or jacket in as well. I keep maps and glasses and a small plastic container with a wet cloth to wipe bugs off the shield also in there. I also have a small thing of wax to wax the shield for rainy days. At the gas pump, you pull it off and through ittothe rear, fuel up and replace it and it never comes of in flight. You can also pull it off and use it like a backpack.

RE: Tank Bags
I have an Oxford 1st time magnetic tank bag....I love it and have no complaints. It also looks nice on my 87' 1kf. The most i've packed into is clear visor, shorts, hat, sandels, bottle of water, wallet, cellphone, sunglasses, and my cigarettes. I usually carry my lunch to work...and I like not having to worry about my cellphone falling out of my pocket.

I bought it from an internet vendor, about $40 shipped to my door.
