Default swing arm bearings

hi can any one tell me how to check the swing arm bearings , as the bike tends to wander on the road , if you grab the back wheel you can see a bit of movement in the swing arm at the front . also where is a good lace to get them with out paying to much to the dealer . thanks CLIFF

Hey there,

Checking swing arm bearings =>
Put the bike on the centre stand. Grasp the end of the Swing Arm - firmly pull it about in all directions. There should be no movement at all side to side. You'll almost certainly feel some slop in the up/down direction - that is most likely to be the shock linkage bearings.

Purchase the bearings from a reputable bearing supplier - CBC or similar - when you know what size they are!

Cheers, SB

Thinking Koala Boy might be from Oz. Check this link out Koalaboy. These are the Honda parts but you'll pay less at a reputable bearing seller. Don't buy from dealer as you will get ripped off as usual. Bearings are the same for all years. Good luck. Seems NTN and Thompson are the bearing makers but I'm sure there are others.

If you do it yourself be very careful with the needle bearing as they are a pain to get out and easily damaged on installation. You need to use a draw rod to pull the bearing in I know I wanted to smack mine with a hammer.
