Swappimg front forks and rear swing arm

Depends which way you're thinking of swapping them.
If you're thinking of using the front forks from a '91 to replace the rear swingarm on an '87 I can absolutely guarantee that it won't work.
As another alternative, you could try introducing yourself, telling us about yourself and your bike and see how it goes from there. Lots of very experienced and clever guys on this site, they will help you out.
Welcome aboard Frank, if you hang around here long enough I'm sure you'll get used to us.

Hey:
The forks are the same diameter of 41mm unless someone prior to you has changed them. They are a very good upgrade, and a direct swap on both ends. Use the newer wheel spacers if doing the wheels too. If going to the wider 91 wheels also you need the 91 countershaft sprocket/speedo drive cover and speedo cx, rear brake stay, and chain cover to change away from the front wheel driven speedo of the 87/88 bikes. I would do this mod/upgrade even if I did not change the wheels as the cartridge forks are much better. Also you have to ditch the rear hugger if planning on doing the wheels as it is a little narrow for the wider wheels. I also did the newer 91 bodywork as well back then, as it was hard to find good 87/88 bodywork, but is more mod work than the wheels and suspension believe it or not, rewelding body mount tabs.
And also Welcome too...
