Finally started work on the bike today, it's only taken 3 months. I took the sump off because the gasket was leaking.
Is there anything that can be checked while the sump is off and how the hell do you get the old gasket off.

Use Gasket Spray and leave it.

If that doesnt work I use a brass brush on a Dremmel at low speed (use breather protection)

If all else fail use a Safety Razor blade. But be careful if you score the metal it'll leak all the time.
