Starts when it feels like it.

Hi All
I have a CBR 1000 F 1988;
After some help Please its driving me mad.

It only starts when it feels like it.
I have had carbs cleaned and balanced and new plugs.

If iam lucky it will start and run on all four but if it does start it normally runs on 3 cylinders.

Most of the time it just wont go.

Help Please
Regards John

Hi John ,looks like you need to do a bit of fault finding , start with ignition system first, start at page 17-1 of the workshop manual see what that uncovers, you will need a multimeter, and welcome to the forum:)

Hi Fella.
Look at fuel, crud in tank, blocked fuel filter, corroded terminals on coils.....

Does it run okay when its started?
How long between running it, daily weekly monthly?

John, first you need to figure out if you have a fuel or electrical problem.
The very first thing I would do is check to see if its getting fuel.
I'm willing to bet you may have a bad fuel pump. I would disconnect the lines and see if its pumping. If its not, I'd go gravity feed. If it is pumping, check for clogged lines.

Check the pump first and report back.

I'd spray some of this stuff in the carby intakes and see if it catches
