Default speedometer is way off....

My dad has a 93 CBR1000f. His speedo seems to be off quite a bit. I paced him on my stock F4i at about 70 mph and his speedo said about 82 mph.

Any ideas how to fix this? Maybe it has lower gearing? What should the stock sprocket sizes be? Thanks.

Maybe the CBR is reading high and the F4 low

My speedo reads high too, but the guy I bought it from lowered the gearing and I've always assumed this was the reason. Does your dad's bike have the stock sprockets? If he bought it used then there is a decent chance that one or both stock sprockets have been changed.

Do a search under "sprocket", you'll find an answer.

I believe I read that the 89/90 sizes are different to the 91+
