Soon to be new owner
Going to be picking up an '88 Honda CBR1000F Hurricane on Monday! It'll be my second bike and an upgrade from my '82 cb450T Hawk. Test rode it and it ran great. Only problems was the Clutch needs to be adjusted do to having literally no play and not fully disengaging when pulled, and the chain needs to replaced as it has a kink in it that is noticeable while riding. Any tips as what else to look for? The fairings are pretty beat up cracks and scratches from more then one drop on both sides but frame seems straight with no dents/bends. ended at $1800 for it.
Only discrepency I seen was the bike is the black with monza red colouring, which according to some sites was an '87 colour, but the title matches as well as the VIN.

Note that you can´t "adjust" the clutch, it´s hydraulic engaged, and what you´re describing indicates that something is not right. It could be as easy as air in the clutch fluid or old, bad fluid, or something more expensive as a messed up clutch cylinder (master or/and slave). Also, don´t just change the chain, you should change the sprockets aswell, or you will just throw away money, since the new chain will wear more without new sprockets. Fairings are VERY hard to find, if not impossible, so keep that in mind.

Mine is black/bluish with Monza red and it is an 88. Look real hard at the black paint. It will have blue sparkly **** in it. Use a flashlight at night or something, look at it in the sun. Anyway, I have some slightly molested fairings if you are interested. Missing tabs, but sounds like you could transplant the tabs if you need to.
