I recently fitted "shorty" levers - no clear difference in the braking effort, so yes a longer lever may be the cause but I'm inclined more to the m/cylinder to pot ratio.....

Ordered a master cylinder for a 2000 cbr600 f4 friday, came in today, and just got done installing it.

Just pulling on the lever feels 100x better, haven't gotten to test ride it yet as it's still pissing down the rain here in the mountains but I feel confident that it'll do the trick.

Also found out the other morning that running all 3 pistons on the rear will lock it up pretty easily, was mostly using the rear brake since the fronts weren't feeling right but I soon found that it was a mistake to do so.

Thanks guys for all the help, as soon as I get the extra money to spend on something not necessarily needed right now I'm gonna get the braided ss lines for the front and back, gotta get new sprockets and a chain first though

It will take a little time to get use to it and after that it will actually start to feel inadequate. When they were linked you had to stand on it. You can't do that anymore.

Just got back from short ride and I've got to say the difference between the 2 is night and day, thanks so much Dean0.

Now I don't hardly use my back brake, unless I'm pulling in a friends driveway and just wanna slide it sideways a little to a dead stop for a little fun
