Default seat latch on 93 with Corbin

Can someone look at this latch I ordered from RonAyers and tell me if its wrong, or if the Corbin seat just uses a different latch? I bolted it on hoping I could get it to work with just one nut holding it but its not wide enough.

Also, anywhere else I can try to order this part?

Click on the thread I am supplying and look at the photos Sprockaholic entered (third entry down). There is a "U" shaped catch that is centered and can be tricky to get in the correct place for latching. Yours was not made by Corbin. You could contact them and see if they still have the catch.

Could you get a better photo with the entire seat pan so that the members could better identify any problems?

I cant tell much by the photos as far as how wide the latch is, but I did see reference to the U shaped latch, which my Corbin had. Did Corbin ever supply the latch with their seats? That would tell me if the part I ordered was right or wrong. The bolt holes on the part I ordered are far too close together to bolt on to the Corbin seat I have.

Hi I know my cane an 88 but I bought a second hand corbin seat. This had the same latch as the original seat. Have you got the original seat? Check the latch on that and see if that works with the new seat.

Now I understand the question and the answer is yes. Corbin uses those "U" shaped catches that are attached to the flat stock. You may be able to get some flat stock and attach your factory (RonAyers supplied) catch to it. Center it up and I would think it would work. The "U" shaped catch is also on the same center line as the bolt holes.

I will be flying out of town in a few hours. Someone else with a Corbin will have to measure from their pan to the tip of the "U" to give you the proper standoff so that the saddle will capture correctly.
