Scared myself

Scared myself
Rode my '91 CBR to a conference this week, three hours away. Mostly two-lane roads, up and down hills, lots of curves, though none very sharp. Found myself cruising at 90, taking 45 mph curves at 85 with hardly any need to lean the bike. Could easily have gone faster if these curves hadn't been blind. Hitting 125 while passing, sometimes on a double solid line. About 30 miles on an interstate at 105. This bike feels like it's on rails. Been riding since my teens, but never had a bike so fast and confidence-inspiring. Anything near the speed limit feels like bicycle speed. Am I nuts?

RE: Scared myself
I do it every weekend. About 300-400 miles, mostly two lanes, passing double yellow, roll on sprints to 140mph just for kicks. Back roads, screw the interstate. The interstate isn't fun. It's the two lane state roads that get your adrenaline pumping. I have a cruiser as well, and I try to pull the same crap on it. Won't do 120 though, maybe 110. People look at you funny when you have road race gear on when riding an Intruder with custom paint. They are like "What are you getting ready to do with THAT stuff on?"

RE: Scared myself
The first time I rode my 86/87 in the hills with a mate both were rusty. 1000f vs yamaha fzr 750 genesis. We said we would take it easy. That's where easy ended. 180+kph leading up to 25km hairpin bends with no run off etc. Do I qualify as nuts or just a throttle jockey. I must admit we still laugh about it.
Did I mention that my mate is a minister of religion?? [sm=smiley9.gif]
