Default Recovering seat; glue around fuel petcock?

I bought a nice fitted seat cover for my 95' 1kf and even a new fuel petcock bezel system. I just don't know how to deal with the fuel petcock hole, after watching several how-to recovering vids. I am imagining the cover would be stretched well, but I fear that if I cut a hole it will pull apart and deform (losing the stretch and going elliptical).

I read a comment about someone gluing around that hole area...that sounds feasible as a temporary hold to keep the material in place, would something like contact cement work well?

A this is a tricky one

You want to stretch and staple all around the seat first

then mark the center of the petcock hole draw a light chalk
circle of the about 2mm's inside the circumferance

Then staple all around the petcock hole in a way that the besel
will conceal the staples , then cut in from the center point in small
triangles stopping at the 2mm circle and fold back and epoxy on the
back side.

Well this is the way I do it anyhow

Take your time with it as it can be torn easily as there's
usually a fair amount of tension from stretching the entire
seat
