Rear wheel alignment - CBR1000F '97
Hello guys,
i had account before, but i couldn't log in (for some reason). Anyway... After tightening chain, i wanted to align my rear wheel, but there are no marks on the fork, which is very strange because i guess Honda couldn't forget to put them there, right? :D I have just two bolts on each side and chain wear out mark on one side. Do you have any idea how to align my rear wheel? I did try it with a famous "rope" method, but the bike central stand is getting in the way, so that is not an option :( Thank you for the answers. Here is my bike https://usnimi.me/slike/2017/04/21/IMAG1408SnKxh.jpg https://usnimi.me/slike/2017/04/21/IMAG01724ZLiV.jpg https://usnimi.me/slike/2017/04/21/IMAG1960MwonP.jpg https://usnimi.me/slike/2017/04/21/IMAG1579Uo7uh.jpg |
Hi Sergio :)
The two adjustment blocks which hold the rear axle and slide inside the swingarm have the adjustment markers on them. If they are not there, then last time the rear wheel was installed, the blocks were installed the wrong way round i.e. the adjustment marks facing the inside rather than outwards. |

I guess i didn't look that close. lol! :) I will check it again tomorrow... If they are not there, i will just remove the rear wheel and set those adjustment block the right way :) Thanks again! :) |
Glad to help.
Guess how I know what has happened? :icon_lol: Nice bike BTW. |

My thoughts are, if you tighten your chain first, then align your wheel, the chain won't be adjusted correctly right ? Aligning the wheel secondly often overtightens it. You do them together, matching alignment as you adjust so when the alignment coincides with the correct tension your done ?
