Ask Sprock. I know he's replaced his.
Mine will need attention some time soon so I'll watch the responses you get.
How's she running otherwise?

Maybe Dean0 would know - he's a wizz on suspension. Send him a PM.
May be cheaper to buy a replacement on e-Bay ?

I had to press in the lower bushing on the dogbone and it was a pita mostly in getting
the old one out - ended up using sockets of varying sizes and a bench vise to do the
pressing for what that's worth

On an old Dodge I had, I burned/pressed the old leaf spring bushings out using a combo of a simple torch and and variety of all-thread, nuts, wood, a cheater bar and a series of just fitting fender washers. took half a day. but used the same setup, just a larger washer on the backside to press the new ones in. A hell of a job for sure, but doable

Use your imagination. The tools could be at the local hardware store and plenty cheap. Give us a write -up when successful

I'd be interested to know to Pilgrim cause I have the same problem after checking today. I have several mm movement upward in the swing arm. I had my son help me and could see the movement in the top of the shock when he moved it for me. I'm happy to stuff about doing it myself. I'd be grateful for a how to if you would be so kind. Cheers.

As far as parts go it appears they are still available. I've checked this link and although some parts aren't available any longer the ones we would need for this job are. From what I can see we would only need parts 19,7, 34 and 4. The top bolt could be re used. I will price them down at my local stealer tmrw and see how much they are here. If to exxy I will have them sent to a friend in the USA and then forwarded at regular postage rates and not the inflated rip off rates of most places these days.

Pilgrim,
I replaced the bushes in the top of the shock about an hour ago. ***** of a job getting the shock out which does require swing arm removal. I just pulled the bolt and slipped it back to make enough room to get the shock out sideways. I've checked all the linkages and the bearings within and they are fine. I am going to replace the chain guide rubber though while I have the swing arm out. I see its 29 bux in the USA so I'm in for a treat buying it here......

Default Shock fix

Yes thanks for replies ordered the top bush and a new bolt from DAVID SILVER as there was only play in those 2. Cleaned the outer bush and greased and replaced the new inner bush and bolt and no more play. Yes a bit of a pig to get in and out but have swing arm newly painted and all back in again. Waiting to get a replacement rear caliper then can put newly painted back wheel, new sprocket and gold retaining bolts and new wavey back disc.

News to me Bordo - I have replaced two shocks with swing arm and wheel in place

But ya know we each do stuff to our own liking etc. so like no big deal anyways

Picked up a brand brand new never used "new old stock" shock last week for 100
had a tag on it for 1154 buckeroos woo hoo
