Dunno about 3 settings, looks like just a cross head screw near the lower. Not sure if it's an 88 as the top lug isn't the same, look here

No the problem I'm having is there is play where it bolts into the frame at the top. So before I can order the parts I need to know what shock I have.

Noam,
I have shocks for both FH/FJ and the FK onwards. The one with the crosshead is the later shock. The earlier shock had a "sticky out bit" that allowed 3 positions for damping. The cross head is infinitely variable. I have just bought a Hagon replacement, and the confusing bit is that according to Hagin, they only list one replacement to cover all models of our bikes. That is confusing, and may mean that they are interchangeable anyway? I havent tried to fit the older shock on my FL (bought in error offa ebay) but it did look like it would have gone in had I done it.

If you need more info on them let me know, also, make sure that the play isnt coming from the frame mounting receptacle. Maybe its worn?It has a captive nut on one side, but maybe the other end has elongated? I too had play, and a new bolt fixed it.

Anyway good luck!

Ara

Thanks Aracanth, the p/r/s/t models have a shock that is very similar to the k/l/m/n models apart from the former having no serviceable parts except the bush caps and bolt at the top. The k/l/m/n models have a inner sleeve as well as the bush. However thanks to Weekendrider pointing out that screw in the pic I reckon it must be the k/l/m/n shock. As I doubt that would be needed on the non-serviceable shock? I wil upload a pic of what I believe must be the inner sleeve. Also all the caps and washers were missing, would this cause play?

"make sure that the play isnt coming from the frame mounting receptacle. Maybe its worn?It has a captive nut on one side, but maybe the other end has elongated?"

I will check this before I oder any parts.

Thanks so much for all the help :)
