Rear Fender Reduction

Rear Fender Reduction
I'm sure this is absolutely nothing new to you guys, but I thought I would share the zero cost rear fender diet program I put my bike on a few years ago.
I cut the rear fender shorter, ditched the original license plate bracket, but harvested the light off of it for later relocation, ditched the turn signal stalk extension sections and bolted the plate directly to the fender. I took the tail piece off and reattached the light with two small bolts to the back edge of the underseat document holder thingy. When I put the tailpiece back it just fits over the light and conceals it for a much cleaner rear end. Check out the pics:

Looks preety good. I cut mine off even with the fairing and made a belly pan from aluminum sheeting. I also installed led bulbs and integrated the turn signals into the tail light. Next is to get rid of the inner fender and get a hugger. When you can't buy this stuff you just have to make it A. Good job man.

Tallenuf - had to modify mine, the law in Western Australia is that a fender is compulsory. The fender must be a minimum of 45 degrees from horizontal when measured at the rear axle. I'll get a pic together to show, but in the end, I lopped off the large expanse of mud guard (just under the licence plate (similar to the position of your plate)
