Default Ram Mount Aquabox

I have been thinking about getting one of these for a while, but was concerned that having a large box on the handlebars would cause handling issues.

So.... I decided to take the plung and bought the aquabox / clutch mount and also got a mount for the center of the yoke - just in case I wanted it balanced better by having it in the center.

Well, I cant say enough good things about this - fitted it in 10 mins (Clutch mount) and went for a long ride to my brothers (maybe 100 miles all up tonight) - it is absolutly rock solid steady.

What makes a huge differance is that I used to have my Phone (With PDA / Sat nav) in the map pocket of my tank bag meaning I had to glance down to look at it - not ideal - the mount puts the screen at the perfect height off to the left and better still - I dont have to take my tank bag with me all the time. I am not a fast rider these days - but right up to 110mph there was no adverse affects.

Very happy - thinking about one? - DO IT lol

Will get some pics up over the weekend (Havetn fitted the yoke mount yet - might not even bother!)

HTH

These Ram Mount Aquabox are great. I got one for my gps and so far no problems. I also went to Radio Shack and got a power outlet (cigerette lighter) and hooked it up to the aquabox. Then wired it to the fuse box for some juice to all my gadgets.Theyalso havethis adapter called"I Go" that uses different end piecesthat you can switch to what devices you are charging. That away you can use one power cord for all things and keep it permently mounted to the bike. Just an extra idea.

They look ok, are you setting up your phone to your bike?
I'm thinking about the same thing but since I have a Windows phone, I can control it via voice - but having it mounted just under the screen would be cool.

I have my Garmin Quest 2 on a RAM long arm attached to a RAM clutch reservoir mount and it works like a charm.

Have it mounted on the Garmin motorcycle mount w. the power cable running along the frame and under the fuel tank.

Only downer has been when I forgot to push in the mount lock. Luckily it was on a street in a very small town at about 30 MPH when it bounced out. Only broke the antenna on the Quest when it hit the blacktop. One trip to Circuit City and $34 later, the remote antenna was installed and GPS working again.

I've got a Garmin 2610 mounted on the left lever mount with a RAM and a Bel rx65 radar detector on the right. For both I use a powerlet sockets with 90 degree plugs mounted in the dash panel. Each are on a different fused cuircut on separate fuse box controlled by a Bosch type relay.
The 2610 is water proof so I don't need a aquabox. I usually remove the radar detector in the rain, but it sits almost under the screen so it only really gets wet when I slow or stop. But in the rain, I'm not really concerned with radar protection. This picture doesn't show the detector however.
