Default Polished My Wheels

Well I finally got around to polishing the wheels on my 95 CBR1000F. I followed one of the posts over in the "How To"forum. I didn't do the whole wheel, just the lips. I've got probably 15 hours into both of them, and I couldgo a little more if I really wanted to. So whats everyone think of them? The pictures really don't due them justice. The cell phone camera and flaurecent lights don't help either.

Ok, apparently I suck at computers and .bmp files aren't supported. So I'll just give the links to the photobucket account.

Keeping them that way's going to be the problem................there's got to be an answer to the 'white wheel' dilemma.............[X(] The hubs are the worst.........

they look great now if you polish them every 6 months or so and either put a coat of wax designed for the paint on them(may make them look a little dull) or put a little coat of penetrating oil on them (not alot though just put a little on a rag and wipe on) it will help to keep them that way. just some tricks ive learned working in a truck shop

Thanks for the possitive feedback. This isn't the first set of wheels I've done, wasthe first set of bike wheels though. I didn't think doing the whole wheel would look too good, since there isn't allot of shinny stuff on the bike. Plus if you've ever looked at the hub behind the discs...lots of cavities in there, would be a big PITA to do that area.

It's a big PITA just to clean in all the nooks and crannies - only way to remove paint etc would be bead blasting I think. Polishing in there would be more PT than I'd like to look for.............
Yours do look great though.

WOW!!!

I would like those on mine also, but i am lazy enough that keeping white wheels clean is hard enough to me
Does anyone know how polished wheels stand road salt? Here in the spring and autumn the roads are pretty salty.

Maybe a good heavy duty wax would protect them?

Hey there toomany , removed paint and polished the rim on my front wheel , but can't seem to get that lovely 'mirror' finish you got on your wheels , whats the secret? Any tips on the final stages of preperation would be greatly appreciated . Thanks .
