Plug lead order from HT coils

Greetings all

I have had my 1990 CBR1000FL apart trying to diagnose an ignition problem. Along the way I foolishly removed the plug leads from the HT colis, and now I can't remember which order they should go back in.

Could someone please tell me, standing beside the bike looking down and forward at the two HT coils, from left to right, what is the cylinder order??

Much appreciated.

RE: Plug lead order from HT coils

Looking forward from your seat position: The left coil HT left wire goes to Cylinder 1 (most left) and the right cable to cylinder 4 (most right). That leaves the right coil to ignite cylinder 2 on it's left cable and cylinder 3 on it's right cable. It doesn't really matter if you interchange the cables to the same coil, e.g the left coil ignites cylinder 1-4 at the same time.

Control question: You do have the seat on the same side on bikes in England as we have ?

Thanks R1000

Regards your question, no, here in the UK we have the seat on the underside of the bike. This aids greatly in the very rainy conditions here to keep us dry while riding ;-)

All the best
