Default Petrol Prices

Another forum member told me that petrol price had gone up to $1.28 Australia Dollar for a litre.
I'm paying the equivalent of $2.35 litre.
Just out of interest is anyone paying more than us in the UK?

Up here in scotland prices are generally between 91p - 97p a litre, the other day I filled up at 94.9pence per litre. That would make it $2.33 AUD or $1.78 USD at current exchange rates.

$1.71 / litre ($6.47 / gallon) here in Finland, and most likely going up for the summer... Who could build a bio-energy CBR that runs with cow-dung?

The price would still be the same in Sweden, due to taxes
How are your clutch plates doing?

On the Gold Coast, Australia is about AU$1.15, other parts of the country are paying a little more.
Standard Unleaded is 92, there’s 95 and 98, so I'm spending a little more and running 98 octant level mix.

Wow, 92 octane is the low end? That's our high end at most stations in the US. Here, the highest regular is about 94. Our 87 octane is standard and at about $2.77USD/gallon where I live.

How are your clutch plates doing?
It's now slipping more and more, even when driving on cruising speeds. I've ordered new harder springs and will change them next week, and also change oil brand at the same time. I'll check all clutch plates for wearing (I'm pretty sure they're burnt up completely) and replace them if necessary.

I think this has happened because I used that Castrol GPS 15W-50 oil. Stupid me, Castrol GPS 10W-40 (recommended and what I normally have used) comes in exactly same looking canister, I just grabbed the canister, poured it in and didn't check what type it was. The slipping that happened earlier was most probably caused by weak springs, and now when wrong type of oil was in to mix that up, well... I think the original plates are now destroyed.

...Maybe that cow-dung CBR wasn't a Nobel price winning idea, just think of the smell of exhaust gases! Eh...

kilgoretrout, here in Finland we only have 95 and 98 octane, 93 octane hasn't been sold anymore for almost ten years.

Remember to check your spacer plates. If these have gotten overheated, or the clutch discs themselves worn down too much, the metal spacer plates can warp and keep whatever new clutch discs you put in from operating properly.
