Paint codes for '91 CBR1000F

Good Morning from the cold, drizzly Adelaide Hills. Too low for snow so we just have to put up with the mizzle!

So, guys, my 1991 CBR1000F has a few nicks and scrapes on the fairing and mirrors that will need touching up.

Any ideas how I would locate the paint codes - for the red in the main (I've found black to be black - unless it is sable!) :icon_dunce: Any pointers will be much appreciated.

Cheers, Craig

I have an f3 but my paint codes are on the left sided sub frame. Have to remove fairing on my bike to see it. Hope this helps for you

Paint Search :: Color Results - ColorRite This is probably good for US bikes, not sure about others.

Thanks Guys - much appreciated.

I think close enough will be good enough as the side fairing infills ( under the bars) have faded as they are (I'm guessing here) injection moulded in the red colour.

Cheers, SB

Unfortunately the actual paint formulation codes seem to be a closely guarded secret.....
But Paco is spot on - Colorrite is your best bet - Pricey but a perfect match.
I think the standard colours were the same for Australia as everywhere else except for the 90 - California.
Just look it up on the chart by year and you'll be away :)

Well having just used colorite last week

Expect one thing a deeper less faded color than your oem & now faded paint !

Just so you know ahead of time

Yes, thanks Sprock,

Looking at the bike in sunlight (a rare commodity here at the moment) I can see three different reds on the bike now - 1 due to repainting (top fairing) and two due to fading at different rates.

So, I think I'll go close enough is good enough :)

It's only a few nicks and scrapes but it will look much better without them!

Cheers, SB
