Default newbie, parts search

I have had an 87 CBR 1000F for 16 yrs now, and have only replaced a set of tires, a battery and rear pads (minus tuneup) in 13,000 mi. Great bike!

I am looking for a 90's model yr wheel set. It's time for tires and I want to upgrade to a good set of radials.

I also need upper inner fairing pieces from an 87-88 Hurricane (the bike was wrecked before I got it and now some of the plastic is showing the real damage).

Would appreciate help.

As mentioned before, there's a set of wheels on e-Bay motors.......
For fairings, maybe try
http://www.airtech-streamlining.com/...0001987-90.htm
Two sets of tyres in 16 YEARS ? Hoooooooooooooooo - perished for sure - buy new ones for the new rims. I use Michelin Pilot Road 2's best I've found for grip and tyre life.
(Mine last about a year per set) he he

I know you mentioned wheels on ebay but I only see the wheels I have now or wheels for RR's, and some really expensive ones.

Airtech only offers three pieces of the fairing from there site, I will contact them about other pieces.

I have used Pirelli biased ply tires in the past and have mostly used the Hurricane for touring and some commuting, so I guesss I am not hard on tires.
On the last set I went to 120/70 front and 150/70 rear and the bike seemed to have less of a vague feeling as to how it handled, compaired to the stock size that was on it when I picked it up. I never felt good getting into a corner fast on the stock size tires unless it was a big sweeper at high speed.

You can also tell by my miles, that I have not ridden much in that time. Before the Hurricane I would put that many miles total on the Cb750F in one year, but times have changed (family, kids, life, ect......)
