Default Newbie needs a coolant hose...

OK, I've been searching this forum and several Honda parts suppliers and getting nowhere...

87 1000f, there are two 1" coolant hoses on the left side. One (outer) goes from radiator to the waterpump, while the other (inner) goes from a metal line (runs from the block, behind the header before connecting to rubber hose) to the rear (return?) port on waterpump. I can make a straight 1" work on the outer, but I can also find listings of the actual replacement hose. I can't even find the inner one listed on the parts diagrams, and I'm not happy with the forced bends on a straight hose... HELP, please!

I'd also love to find out a silicon set from a later model could be made to work- anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks!
-Mike

Take off the hoses and go to your local auto parts store. Take a look at all of the hoses they have and match one up. You can get longer hoses that bend in all kinds of ways and cut out a section that matches what you have.

Good luck.

Nope, that's the weird part- I keep finding that diagram, but its missing the hose I need! The needed hose is just inboard of hose number 20 on the diagram, runs tucked under the engine on the left and to an inner port on the waterpump...

The one off the top of the water pump housing ? that runs up to the
left manifold coolant elbow / "T", that I do know does not show on any
diagram , it's a small 1/4 " diameter hose and only on an 87/88 Hurricane

Nope, it's a formed 1" hose attached to a probably 10" metal line that goes into the front of the block, right of center behind header. Its a pretty significant piece, which is why I'm so surprised it's not in parts diagrams. I'll try to post a photo in the morning

Hey Mike,

Glad to be of assistance. Sometimes I have a moment of clarity.

Meet you at the Saloon.

Buy you a virtual pint.

Cheers!
