Default *NEW WEAK POINT FOUND IN 1000F *

Hey everyone my buddy just bought a 94 cane for 2300 with 27k on it blah. anywho i come to my buddys house on my 96 cane (which still is fine at 39k) and see his bike he just bought in the back of his truck. well it turns out his bike got backed into pushing the bike backwards on the kick stand for a foot and a half or so. bike didnt fall. just kept leaning further and further. my buddy catches the lady trying to go forward and stoped her. he thought the bike was ok....for the most part little scratch on the fender. then he looked at the kickstand which was bent to hell
and the bike started leaking oil quickly after. so im guessin the case in cracked some where. he hasent checked it out yet. coudent see through the plastic. but yea leaking oil everywhere so something is very wrong. will update post when we find out more. man poor bastaqrd didnt even put....mabe 200 miles on it before it GOT IT lol

Oops. I bought my CBR600 new in 1990. Rode from the dealer to work, went to put the bike on the stand on dropped it. [:@] Thankfully there was a paint shop on the industrial estate where I worked and in time my memory of dropping the bike with 17 bloody miles onthe clock faded. hang on, that was 18 years ago and I still remember it like it was yesterday!

Probably just the side casing - easy enough to replace....and a new side stand.....undo the 3 bolts holding the plastic cover on, remove left side fairing to make it easier, take out the 3 bolts and fit new metal casing part. Idodirt had a similar problem, fixed it with instant steel or something. He has a new one spare at the moment - why not ask him if he'll sell it to you......??
Bad luck, [X(]that, I stood on my dog's tennis ball backing my bike out of the garage a couple of weeks ago, and nearly dropped it - can't tell you how many times my feet have slipped in sand, and she's nearly gone down. They're just so d...d heavy, once they go, they are hard to stop.
Not as bad as Flogger, though....(Hi Phil) 17 MILES .......you must have been p....d off, Mate !!

I'm going to be doing the left side cover here shortly. Just waiting for the gasket to come from a slow boat from Japan. It's been 3 weeks waiting for thebloody thing. I'll take pictures if anyone wants them. shadow, I may have the same problem as Idodirt, so I'm ready with the JB Weld to fix it if need be.

Why not make a new gasket with velamoid and a ball-peen hammer ? Dead easy, and quick.
