New tires....different size option?
Hey I'm gonna be puttuing a set of tires on my dad's hurricane and am wondering if the same tire from my bike would fit / be safe.
My bike runs 180/55/17 and 120/70/17. And his has 170/60/17 and 110/80/17. There are a lot more tires available in my sizes and CycleGear has a set of Pirelli Diablos for $170. Anyone run different sizes??? Thanks. ________ KAISER JEEP |

Do a search. This has been discussed before.

RE: New tires....different size option?
Hi Rick, as Paco says, this has been discussed before, but in short:
Many of us are running 180R/120F combinations on the Hurricanes. Opinions differ as to manufacturers, but the Pirelli Diablo is the tyre of choice for quite a few. |
RE: New tires....different size option?
Thanks for the quick info. I'm also running Pirelli Diablos on my F4i and I've been happy with them. Cycle Gear has the 180/120 set now for $170!!!

RE: New tires....different size option?
:D I think it depends on what year model your dad's bike is. The earlier models took smaller tyres, so you might wanna read up on what Shadow and others are saying in those threads: "Tire size for a 88" and "Tires?"

RE: New tires....different size option?
Well in cold climate like i mostly have The Diabolos are pretty good tyres. They warm up wery fast and they have this two zones technology that the center of tyre has harder than edges so it dosent wear out so fast and still has grip on edges.
But being honest they still tend to wear out pretty fast - or is it my driving manner[8D] |
