Default New seat for my '88

Hi all ... further to my "somewhere to park my ***" thread, here's the finished seat.

The remit was: To finish the front of the seat in carbon fibre material and incorporate a rear "hump" to give it a kind of single seater look. The back of the seat has been raised by an inch or so and a 2.5 inch hump in the middle. I gave the coachtrimmer a free hand to be creative with the final finish ..... (Gulp!!!)

I wasn't too sure when I first saw the final result, but it's grown on me ... It's massively better than the scabby old, ripped original seat that I had .... The cost??? ... £60 (uk) pounds.

The guy who did the job is an ex TVR Sportscars factory coachtrimmer and the quality of workmanship is first rate.

Regards,

shakey

It's definately "unique"

Just need a few stars to go with the stripes for that genuine 'Evil Kenevil' look shakey

Don't get carried away and go jumpin' the Grand Canyon!

60 quid's a bargain mate, cost me that just to have the old seat recovered.

Looks good that Shakey, I'm off up to Preston next week to sort my seat out, left the guys at Bootleg Bike Seats a secondhand seat I got off Fleabay for £20, need to raise my **** a bit to make my knackered knee comfy, similar price to yours once it's done.

Cheers, Steve

@ Hawk ... Haha, Yeh, that was my first thought too, matey .... lol

@ Steve ... cheers Steve ... am looking forward to seeing your finished seat. Put some piccys up when you get it back please.

PS ... have you thought about changing the footpegs? Apparently, Buell pegs will fit and are lower ... also the later gen 2 & 3 pegs are further forward by about 2 inches, I believe.

I like it Shakey, there is just something so delicious in having some aspect of your bike unique to you.........

A credit to your design and the trimmer for a job well done.

Cheers, SB

It's got a "beach/surfer" vibe going on. Workmanship looks freakin' superb!

If cost was no object, I'd send my saddle to that guy. Just for the TVR cache' Those are rare cars where I come from

Hi Shakey, no probs with the photos when done, Buell footpeg mod already done, I also did this on my GSX1400 when I had it, the cost of the pegs has gone up though, £26 when I did it on my 1400 7-8 years ago to £44 now, should have kept the pegs off the 1400 lol!!

Cheers, Steve
