hey im new to the board and just wanted to say hi. i just bought a 1991 cbr 1000f and i love it. i just wanted to ask if i needed to watch out for anything, any major maintence that i will have to do?

hey man hows it going i'm knew here too, i got a 93' and far as things too watch out for . what happened to me was a reg/rec which is common so i've been told but other than that i've had a ok experiance with mine. this is my first bike but have respected quick everyone here helps out alot so if theres any questions ask this is the spot!

I had to have my cam change adjustor worked on. I think originally it was a recall item but i bought mine from a friend who moved away and I never got the paperwork. Yours has probably already gone thru that but you might want to check on it if you have all the original paperwork.

Other than the cam chain tensioner the only thing that seems to give these bike trouble is the nut behind the handlebars. Pretty bulletproof from what I hear. If you haven't yet you might want to check fluids (brake, clutch & radiator) and change if needed. Enjoy the bike.

I'm new to the CBR 1000F too, having bought a '91 myself.
I used to have a 600 F2 back in Ireland, so this is quite a step up.
Great fun tho'
