Default New guy with a fairing question...

I have a '90 in the red/white/blue scheme. Picked it up for a deal from some guy on craigslist that really didn't know anything about it. The bike looks great, with the exception of the "bumpers" on each side- I'm not sure of their name, but they look like a 6"x1" piece of plastic that snap in and out of the middle of the plastic on each side.

Is there an aftermarket or OEM source for these?

Thanks,

John

Firstly welcome to the CBR Forum John

The bumpers cover a part of the frame with the intent of minimising fairing damage in a tip over or very low speed drop.

Best to look for them online via eBay or your local wreckers. Some of the CBR1000F guys in the States *may* have some spares they are willing to part with but that is an unknown.

Cheers, SB

Welcome to the forum.

Looks like three different colors available by the A,B or C.

A-LINK for left side Zeus Silver (NH287M).
B-LINK for left side Furious Red (R167).
C-LINK for left side Black Metallic (NH217M). As in photo below.

One more thing, the screws that hold the middle fairings just forward of the sliders that those covers will hide are the exact ones you need to install them with. You can pull one of those and go shopping for two similar ones.

Be careful when inserting those screws. They need to be inserted parallel to the frame or you will strip the hole. Use a stubby Phillips because a longer one will simply not due and you will strip the hole for sure.

Diff on a 90 TBT !

Fairing does not attach at that point - just the solo screw

It's true the MK3 has a screw that attaches the mid fairing first then the cover has
another screw that attaches as well

The Mk2 - the mid fairing does not attach at that point at all just one screw for the cover is all

You'll see if we ever get to do the delink project on the 93

You doubt me ??? HUH

Now you are p!ssing me off - which means piccy time at the weekend LOL
