Just purchased a nice grey/blue'ish/white 1000F w/ 14,000 miles, immaculate stock condition (near showroom) for $2,800.

First thing and only thing I have the urge to do is paint those white rims!

Anyone have any suggestions.

Congratulations on the find. I personally like the white wheels. If you do change the color, however, definately have them powder coated - will resist scratches better than paint. Post a picture when you get a chance. Welcome to the forum.

Thanks Girvin. I'll be sure and post pics. I'll bet the white rims grow on me, but immediately I thought black or silver. After I posted the question I read old posts about powdercoating. Definately the ticket if i do change the color.

Still, To me,white rims are cool!!!!!!!! many think the connotate a 80's bike... whate year is the cbr???? I think lighter wheel colors, add substantiation to the foundation of the look(what???!!!!)maybe, matching a color in the bodywork... look at the TRG powdercoater site, one of our sponsers, there pics of some anthricite rims, are sick. I have white powder on my aftermarket gixxer rims...an 88 1100, and it really sets off that old skool blue /white fairing. Post a pic of the bike...we'll decide for ya !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Clean and free, Ripp'n

Mann where do you yanks get these bikes with such low K's! Must be because of the winters. I had to struggle to find one with less than 38k.

Thanks for the welcome. This is a picture of another bike I found on the internet - not mine but looks exactly the same and at least as clean as the one I'm picking up Friday. The bike is completely stock. Original owner was a 50 year old computer engineer who rode the bike on Sundays in a gentleman's group ride with his little hottie trophy wife (I met her and damn! Was she making a pass on me?) pillion. She said she would miss the bike dearly and hinted she'd like another go on it. Hmmmmm...... anyway I pick my bike up Friday, again this picture is completly identical and as clean as the example I found.

Reading posts in this forum....... should I carry a regulator/rectifier spare?

Real quick.... to all the OZ members: I belong to a forum comprised of mostly Australians for Aquaponics and you guys rock. I've been there before and will go again, probably to see the Motogp at Phillip Island '07. Any of you guys attend?

Troy Bayliss kicks hiney!
