Default New camchain tensioner

I'm REALLY p.d off - I fitted a new camchain, 3 months ago, and asked a friend to fit the tensioner while I was busy with the tappet cover gasket......He must have fitted the chain tensioner at FULL tight adjustment.....how the thing hasn't broken I don't know,,,,,,,,aaaaarrrrrrrrggggh **** !!!
I'm now fitting a new (modified) type tensioner, from the later models, which only seems to have one "blade".........?
Questions are these
1 which way does it fit, ie if looking forward over the engine, does the "blade" fit facing forward or backwards................?
2 Will the original "blade" on the old tensioner fit on the new-type tensioner, or did they change that too ?
3 How does one adjust it so it fits correctly without overstretching the chain from the start ?

Any advice ?

What season is it over there? Duck season or wabbit season. Maybe acquaintance season? In all seriousness Pete I know nothing about those but that's one big pain in the rear. Hopefully no major damage to anything else, & my missus wonders why I do it myself????

Ja Sprocket, vielendank, ich glaube diesen eksemplaar ist fur eine andere maschien, nicht fur eine 1000F.

You gave me instructions in German, so................
(braggin now, see)

The pic doesn't show which way round the thing fits, but yes the pics are right.
And it's now 07.32, and I'm about to have coffee.
