3rd gear at 35? Of course it will be sluggish....

Bikes a designed to run at much higher rpm than 3200.

Ya, that's why I gave comparison. Of 2nd gear and 3rd gear at 30/35 mph around town.

Exactly it's sluggish in 3rd gear at that speed. You are re.clarifying. My comments.

But 2nd gear. My bike gets warmer then what I like. But it's what I live w, thermostat changed. Radiator fluid chsnged, fan comes on and work fine, new cap .

It's a lot better. Now that I've done those things.

But this topic is in search of people who did some performance mods 2 the motor.

Ya if money was endless, I'd pick up another used bike to engine tinker, maybe next year. Sunk $800 plus this past few weeks. With new back tire, rr issue and stator.

Peck away.

The point is that you should not be in 3rd at only 35. My bike does 80 in 1st... Hell, at 3000 it's not even charging the battery.

Try winding it up more, a lot more like 8000, and see if you still think it's sluggish.

I get to 105 in 1st. At 9,500.

Yep. I mostly stay in 2nd at around 4,000. Just wish bike ran a rad cooler tho.

Cruz speed tho I'm at like 3500 in 6 at 75 mph.

My new rr came today put on. 13.5v at 3500. 4000 rpm I'm at 14v, just about 15v at 5200 rpm.

The best money is the stick coil mentioned above, K&N air filter and re-jetting.
After that a good carb sync would be in order.
When re-jetting, you need to turn the pilot screws out 2 1/2 turns with the D-shaped tool.

Comments are right on the money. The cbr1000f is a treasure and foes what it does very very well
If you want more speed find yourself a cbr1000rr. My son has one and handling is like flying a f18 jet fighter and the power well only place you will find that you question the power is on a fully fledged race track and even then it's got the punch to put you fight into orbit
Both bikes are great but very very different.
If you want yo win a horse race don't ride a Clydesdale
If joy want to carry a heap of gear don't use a Thorobreds

Enjoy
