Need more speed, what mods can be done ?
So,
Is there people still around on here who have done some performance mods on the 1000f ?
Other then sprocket changes and 4 to 1 exhaust, jet kit.
What engine mods have been done ?
Bored out ? I seen some site offered or use to. A big bore kit for it.
What about cams ?
My bike is a dog off the line, it's all mid range on up.
I need to take the carbs off and see what jets are in it.

G'Day Ryan,
Clean AND balance your carbys for a start.
Add a set of stick coils for good spark ----> https://cbrforum.com/forum/how-tos-8...ensive-139800/
Give it a test run.
If it's too slow for you then.............................................. ..................
Sell it and buy a Blackbird!
Cheers, SB

These are big heavy bikes more suited for sport touring.
Even if you could get gobs of HP out of it, it would then be lacking in handling.
Best to leave it alone or get a ZX14 or a sport bike.
As far as speed, I have a book at states, it was the fastest production bike until the bird came along. It pulls hard all the way up there. But, unfortunately, your asking how to get a freight train to do wheelies. Learn to love it for what it is.

I appreciate the thought and input.
I believe I have started to think that the Jets in the bike are 2 lean, I need to get the carbs off and take a look.
I realized today, she runs great cold, warmed up. Not do much. I'm only seeing a small amount of brown on 1 part of the plug, not all the way around.
So maybe why I want to have a faster bike, is because it's not running as good as it should.
I've been dealing with the stator issue and that's resolved now.
New tire today, cuz of a nail.

That's pretty interesting. Thanks for sharing.
I totally wish I had two of these bikes, one to take apart and tinker and learn with.
It would be really neat to try or make different Trans gear ratios, especially for the 5th and 6th gear.
Most of my town is 30 mph. I Cruz in 2nd gear at 4000 rpm. At 35 mph. 3rd gear seems to be at 3200 rpm at 35 mph, which seems a little boggy. Sluggish.
