Default My Plans For My baby

Bought a 1992 model from ebay ($2500) in quite good condition.

Plan is to take it off the road for a minimum of 6 months in which time I plan to have all the plastic buffed so the scratchs are out, re paint the panels if required.
New tyres, chain and sprockets.
New brake pads front and rear as well as new brake lines.

The engine seems strong and has no leaks but i want to replace the cam chain and adjust/replace the valves as required.

How does all that sound and have i forgotten anything

Hey Johnno, I thought you said she was in 'quite good condition' .
That's a load of work to be done, don't forget plugs n filters, both air n oil, also check out fork seals. If you have her striped down that far attend any chips or rust on the frame/swinging arm. When your happy and she's back together, balance carbs and tune her up, job done. As a matter of interest, what mileage has she done?
Post some pics up, like a before and after with progress reports. There's a section here called 'how to...' If you like you could post a blow by blow with pics whilst doing any change out's.
Good Luck and Enjoy.
BTW, I've probably missed a few things out too, but I'm sure the crew here will point you in the right direction.

All that'll take you a month if you do some every night. Camchain will take you around 4-5 hours.
New brake linings front and rear = 2 hours tops.
New tyres chains and sprockets, about two hours - front sprocket is a bit of a pig to get to, but not that bad.

What are you going to do for the other four months, assuming the panels take you a whole month

Grab the manual from the tech section above.

The bike has done 100180Km, which is not to bad on a 17 year old bike.
I want to bring the bike back to some of its former glory IE: the painting of panels.
There is a shop not far from home which does repairs to motorcycle fairings so they will have a bit of work.
Motor is strong, last ride pushed to 7500RPM in most gears with no complaint.

I think she was a bargain
