R1000: are you trying to pull my leg here? In your own thread about that exhaust you said you paid 510 euro for that Laser system. In the exchange rate at that time it would be about 4700-4800 SEK, in today´s exchange rate 4500-4600 SEK, in USD 660-670. Maybe you lied then, or now, or your memory isn´t what it should be, that can happen when one gains age. At least, I will be drivin´a moped that sounds and looks good

Cool gift! I got a V&H system for my 40th earlier this year.
The only thing I didn't like about the look of the bikewas the standard pipes, and the sounddidn't do it for me either.
So slip out to thegarage and whack it on! Just wrap the empty box for under the tree, and claim Santa must have fitted it for you.
Dave.

Why can't you keep a stock can on one side and put the Scorpion on the other side? You will not hurt performance, and get the sound form the Scorpion.

Please post link where I can buy a full new Lazer system for 2600 SEK.
Mike-Here's a link to the Laser site. There are several full systems listed. I bought my Laser 89.1002.B(2slip on's)system from Foster Motorrad here in the states. It's been a while but I believe it was around $520 for the pair.

Ya know, if you think about it even the new GSXR is going back to twin exhaust cans because of the breathing of twin pipes!! You already have that there, you just need the matching pipe on the other side!! Personally, I really like dual exhaust pipes! I like the "old" style flare it adds to the bike! That's why when I wrecked my '94 I stole the yoshi's off of it and used it on this one! Not to mention they sound awesome!!! Just idling it glugs nice and deep. It sounds intimidating! Heheheh.. Ya know, like a tiger ready to pounce!

Maybe if you decide to add the opposite side, if they don't make a matching pipe for the other side, you could simply get the same side, and twist the pipe in the bolts that hold it together. I'm not sure if your pipes are like my yoshi's, but I have 4 bolts that hold them together. I could probably take the outside of the can off, flip it over so it would fit on the opposite side, and put the outer side of the can back on with the writing in the correct direction and viola!! You have twin matching pipes. But at 325 bones a piece, it will be your next present! Heheheh.. In either case, I hope it sounds awesome for you.

Oh, I thought of something else too. They are right that you lose peformance if you don't go to a full exhaust system. The deal with a full exhaust, they normally make the pipes larger to compensate for the lack of two canisters off the back. Its just like those guys riding in those little "Need for Speed" Cars that makes me laugh. They have that HUUUUUUGE can hanging off the back thinking they will add peformance, but only add noise unless you open up the intake and the full exhaust all the way back. And if they did truely do that, those little cars would be waaaaaaaay louder than they already are! But they would be bookin!! Personally, I say go buy yourself an old muscle car, and spend the money making it look hot instead.

I'm out, check ya'll later.

Here´s the result fitted on bike. I´m sooo satisfied. The sound with dB-killer was much nicer than stock, and without dB-killer, auuuh that deep bass... I like!
Will get back to you with video clip of sound, the bike is winterstored at my mom´s and their digivideocam was ofcourse out of battery... didn´t have time to wait for it to recharge.

Updated first post with link to video clip, it should have been filmed outside because the camera recorded echoes in the shed. At least it gives a hint of how it sounds.

The dB-killer was very effective, a good thing to have at MOT (kontrollbesiktning in Swedish). It soundedsomewhat restricted also without the dB-killer, but that coud be an acoustic phenomen due to the recording environmwnt.
