Default My christmas gift! ***UPDATED WITH VIDEOCLIP***

I told my family that I didn´t want underwear, shampoo, chocolate or some useless gadgets for christmas this year, and the same for my birthday earlier in December. I told them all to contribute to the "Slip-on for Mike´s Honda Fund". So they did. This is the result.

Yes, I know. I shouldn´t have opened the box before christmas, but I got it in the mail today and wanted to make sure it wasn´t damaged. Will put christmas wrapping on it and put it under the christmas tree... I promise...

Probably I can´t wait longer than a couple of days to install it, will post picture when ready on bike.

That looks sweet! I don't remember anyone having a scorpion slip-on on thier hurricane. How much did that cost? When you put it on lets us know what it sounds like. I have a friend with an Yamaha R6 with a scorpion exhaust and it's pretty loud. But it sounds just like an indy car.

Found it new on Ebay, an Ebay-seller in UK, Jays Performance had 5 of them(probably has more left), didn´t bother to bid on them since I saved money anyway compared to buing it from the swedish retailer, I had already made up my mind at going for the Scorpion. Paid 160.55 GBP plus 30 GBP for shipping, thats 380 USD at current currancy. It´s E-approved, so it´s a street legal can. Removable dB-killer is included, so one have the choise to go louder... I´m so looking forward to gettin´rid of that boring almost carlike exhaust sound, and the only thing on my bike that isn´t pretty is the OEM cans, so looks is a bonus! I´ll see if I can put up a video link here if you or anyone else is curious of the music from this flute...

Looks good. Is it one muffler only, where you block the left pipe, or dual slip-ons?

Looks good, I have one on my 929 and its actually pretty quiet compared to most. Just a nice deep rumble.

R1000: yep, one can only. In an optimal world I would have wanted dual cans, but that would have exceeded my budget.

Triax: so, are you satisfied with your Scorpion slip-on? I ´m thinking it´s a good buy, Scorpion has lifetime warranty (for original purchaser), and offers replacement for half price if one does a slide on the exhaust. I will know what it sounds like on monday (if the missus let´s me out to the garage)!

mikekop: Take a look under the bike at the header where it splits up to the muffler tubes. It is more or less a 90 degree T-crossing and constitutes a very restricted part of the system. When you block one of them, you will reduce the gas flow and power independent of which muffler you use compared to the stockers. It will also have a negativeimpact on the throttle response midrange and up. That is the dilemma; you should either stay with the stock system, or use dual free flowing cans, or a full exhaust. You never see an old CBR that is ridden fast using the single muffler on stock downpipes, in that case they stay with the complete stock system. You can get like a full high performance Laser system including stainless downpipes from Germany for the same price as you paid for the single muffler. Saying all that doesn’t mean your new system doesn't look very good,it suredoes. Another option is to add new 4-2-1 downpipes and a new middle-pipe to your new can, that will increase the performance a lot for a reasonable cost.

I know all this and it is a calculated risk I´m taking, but I can´t image that this system will restrict anymore than the stock system. Scorpion claims to run all their slip-ons in dyno, and states a 6 hp gain in mostly midrange for my bike. Sure, I know they can say anything in order to sell pipes and I don´t put any trust in the claim. So, don´t worry R1000, I know what I have bought, I wanted looks and sound, not big hp gain. Please post link where I can buy a full new Lazer system for 2600 SEK.

I did a custom install on my bike. I used a (devilbikes) carbon fiber canister, and had my mid-pipe made at an exhausts shop. I did alot of research on slip-ons for our bikes and most companies will claim 3-10hp with them for our bikes. Your bike benifits more from a complete system(header, mid-pipe, can). But all the manufactured slip-ons that had only one canister came with a plug to install where the opposite can was. Yes the slip-on design for our bikes are pretty much made for exactly what me and mikekop were looking for... the sound and as a bonus less weight. Downside to a full system is... don't you have to re-jet for one on our bikes? Sounds like you got an average deal on the pipe. Here in the U.S. the cheapest slip-on I've found goes for around $300 u.s.d. I personally don't think you'll ever regret installing the slip-on.

I bought the 4-2-1 full system for my Hurricane forabout 3000 SEK (325 EUR)including shipping from http://www.mgh-bikes.de/ , send them a mail and ask for an offer to the Hurricane.

Thrust me,a plugged left outlet will definitely reduce the outlet area with 50%which can neveradd 6 hp. However, therewill bea tremendous benefit when you unplugg it and the flow area will increase by 100% :-) Like removing a moped's powerrestriction
