Default My 17 year old new horn

Today my friend stopped by and we were out in the garage. I turned to say something about the 1kF when I noticed some dirt looking stuff in the middle of my horn. I went over to wipe it off only to see something like plastic sticking off the horn. I grabbed it and pulled. It turned out to be the blue plastic coating stuff they stick on things to keep them new during shipping.

Now my horn looks like new. All 17 years of rain and dirt and bugs just peeled off today.

I use to work for a Honda dealership when I was 16 yrs old. The mirrors, horns and some other stuff are covered with the blue plastic for shipping. Those things are in a big plastic bag (the goodie bag) along with bolts and nuts and you peel the plastic covering off before assembly.

Someone forgot to take it off the horn and it stayed out there in the elements for 17 years. WOW! I have never noticed it before when washing the bike.

Like you say...I would like to wrap myself in it. LOL

Maybe I should have whacked some of that plastic on mine when I was 17.

Might work better than it does now.
