Default Moving up to the cbr1000rr forums

My cbr1000f took a nose dive into a ditch last December so a couple of weeks ago I purchased a new 2005 cbr1000rr. It's been fun down here, and I will check the forum still to see if I can help anyone with anything about the cbr1000f.

Looks nice. How does the RR compare against the F?

The 1000f was a little more comfy, but the 1000rr really isn't that bad. The difference in power I love, but not as much as the difference in handling ability. I've gone 10 mph less in the corners so far as I'm still breaking it in, and while at that speed I was using around 80% of what my old bike had, on the new one it feels like I might be using 50% of it's total ability. Night and day the difference is. So to answer.... I love it.

It does everything better, and not by a little, it blows the old one away in all aspects except comfort. To be honest I think a set of helibars and it would be very close to the same comfort wise, however the rr doesn't have anywhere close to the same amount of rider protection with the fairing as the old one did.

Logan, what is to be off the old 1000f? i might be interested in the motor perhapse. please dont say she want to scrap. im teetering on the edge of selling mine and if i can find a good reason not to, i won't. please say u have a place in ur heart for the old girl, i.e. its sitting in a pile behind the garage. seeing as to u cited no physical damage i take it as ur ok. if so thank god, bikes can be replaced, humans can not. i miss my 1000f dearly and might be able to use some parts. please e-mail me with the details if u would be so kind. i can be reached at bigjim44256@yahoo.com. or here i guess, im not real computer liticate yet but im getting there.

Sorry, I was going to buy it back from the insurance company, but they wanted to much for the bike. Everything of value was busted except the motor. The bike went off a ten foot ditch and landed on large rocks. It was beyond repair. The bike had 59385 miles on it. I plan on buying another one next year for the longer trips.
