Default MK1 wide wheel upgrade... my list complete?

Hey guys, pulled my 1987 mk1 from storage (it's been pulled apart and stuffed in boxes back in 2011... man, does time FLY) and brought it home with the intention to -finally- fix it up.
I was looking at upgrading the wheels to the wider ones found on the mk2 and 3.
Sorry if I'm beating on a dead horse, but I've found conflicting information and I hope I can get some advice; here is what I've read:

For the rear, I need just the rear wheel and not the swing arm, the right side spacer (4mm wider?), and reposition the U-bracket on the torque arm from the middle to the side of the arm. I can keep the sprocket holder, left side spacer, swing arm, brake caliper and disc. I've read something about replacing the chain guard with one from a mk3... mk2 doesn't fit? I've read that the main difference between a mk2 and 3 is that the mk3 has linked brakes meaning an extra banjo on the caliper but not much else.

For the front, I just need the left side spacer and front fender, and can keep the speedo giver (can't remember what it's called), brake discs and calipers, right side spacer. I've read something about a late 80s-early 90s VFR front fender... can't the front fender be from a mk2 or 3?

I haven't done the modification, but as I recall, you're correct about the rear. The chain guard is plastic so you can always just cut to fit. Unsure about the front, so for the fender fitment you may want to look at some photos of each bike and make sure they look similar. I imagine that the VFR fender had a different look, so some people would've gone with it. Doesn't necessarily mean that other hurricane fenders won't fit. Since you're not changing the forks, I would think that bodywork from either could be made to fit easily - so long as you're sure that the front-ends are otherwise compatible

In the rear I don't have just a chain guard, but a mud guard covering the entire rear wheel and chain, so I'll just have to see how that will fit.

Nice looking bike. I'd leave it alone and ride it as is.

Thanks! But that’s not going to work, it’s been taken apart and stored back in 2011.
Needs a few repairs/mods, exhaust was hanging on the studs/bolts only, so needs a mounting point at the collector and it’s a SC24 manifold on a SC21 frame (so needs a custom solution), and I like symmetry so it’s getting two nice carbon Laser mufflers and I need mounting points for the brackets on the rear subframe too. And then the top two radiator mounting brackets have broken off the frame, previous owner used those two thin brackets to hang a long bracket around the front legs with the oil cooler hanging on the end of it... so it was dangling on the lower bracket only. Want to relocate the oil cooler to in front or under the radiator (but I have to figure out how to do the plumbing). And the paint on the frame was bad, some small bad bits that needed attention too. Quite a project hehe
