There is a slight fuel leak w.h.e.r.e. my petcock attaches, this apparently becomes a major leak when driving. I had the tank off last weekend for painting, probably just the lock nut. Thus I went through my reserve way fast.

Of course, how many inches of fuel in there would h.a.v.e. made a difference in the leakage. Neither should one rule out how many miles per hour I was going or how many pounds of pressure there was on that petcock. But then, my bike weighs about a quarter ton dry and it was 75 degrees out that morning. Are you with me on that?
