Default Missing Paint/Rust on top Swingarm

I still can't believe that Honda couldn't have atleast put an aluminum swinger on these bikes. My old 89 ZX-10 had aluminum everything. Anyhow has anyone else had paint peeling from behind the pivot area? I wonder what caused it? It also looks like some rust has set in. I guess I better clean it up and paint it, don't want my swingarm falling off.

just had to do mine, was in the same place, after cleaning it all up it was just surface rust and a bit of pitting, check the route of your battery breather as if there have been issues with overfilling ect it will drip onto the swinger.

Put a longer battery breather on and reroute it out away from your swingarm.......
