RE: MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
Hey:
Happy holidays to all cbr riders/ owners out there. As its good to be home for the holidays this year. Say a prayer for the rest of
our brothers in arms(Airman, Marines, Soldiers, and Sailors, civilians and contractors) that are in harms way. I know I will,
I'M glad I am home. That part of the world is a wild place to be this time of year, and won't miss it much but I will the folks I have
worked with for over 25 yrs.

RE: MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
Hey trips, you could have been like us in the Blue Mountains on X Mass day on our big trip all the gear except jumpers as my wife really feels the cold !!! it was single figures can you believe it !!! we experinaced temps from 8 Degrees to about 15 on a hot night from 24th up untill the 29th when we got closer to home that was good to as we had our full leathers on too and didnt get caught in any rain at all. Great trip on the CBR want to take off again, have you ever been to the blue mountains along some of those roads WOW !!! and also in Queensland the roads around Maleny now thats a great littel race track had to that circut a few times in the main street I saw 6 CBRs in a line. We did almost 5,000 Kls the only problem we had was to replace the Back BT 02 as she had 12,400 Kls on her and the bike shop in Armadale only had a Pilot road so hopefully we will get a good run from this one too, I do need to replace the back wheel bearing as it has a bit of play but apart from that she ran liek a dream and we had a fair bit of gear on board too ( See Pic ) Also found a fellow in the Blue Mountains that has a CR 1000 1988 or 89 model tha the watned to seel to me for around $ 800.00 but didnt have provison to get it home ( Its still for sale as far as I know too ). Anyway have enclosed a couple of pics.

RE: MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
Hey Waz, sounds like you had a good trip. I live in the Blue Mtns, i was out and about on xmas day, must have missed you, thats a shame, we could have had a xmas drink!!! Do you have the details of the guy who wanted to sell the 1000 was that CR or CBR? If you do have the details i wouldn't mind having a look, i think i'm on the way to some expensive repairs shortly, could be a cheap way out!!! Thanks pete...

RE: MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
H Pete mate that was a real shame, wasnt it COLD !!!! we both had our full leathers on my wife even had a jumper underneath her leather jacket thats how I got talking to the fellow at the gift shop about CBRs. Now this is the part that I am kickign myself I DIDNT GET HIS NAME would you believe that some days my mind just leaves me, anyway the shop is the gift shop when you walk out onto the giant area to observe the three sisters it is to the left before you go out he was about 5 feet 6 talkitive small to medium build thas all I can remember he told me he had just put new carbs on last year and that the handle bars were modified and she was a 1988 modeland a red and black one as I have a card I made with Red bikes picture on the front and our email and mobile on the back, I am sure he wouldnt be hard to find there , if I would have he details I would have shipped the bike home but then again the BOSS might not have thought that a good idea too, Sorry. Anyway I posted a couple of Pics of the trip didnt want to bore to many of the trip but the bike purred all the way these bikes love 120 Kls an hour dont they had a ball up the Bell liner and then out to Jenolan caves if I lived down there we would go to the caves every weekend just for the road had the girl bent over a few times, helped without all the luggage on too. We stayed at a place called Leura Gardens resort now thats a nice place very reasonable tarrifis too, and the people so freindly and helpful so we eded up staying there for 4 days. THe only thing I had to do to the Honda was replace a back tyre in Armadale, we got 12,500 out of the Batalax BT 20, and when we got home I thought I felt a little movement in the back so I replaced all 3 wheel bearings in the back and the front fork seal is seeping but that has been happening for atleast 6 months but am replacing it this week, just in case any leaks on the front wheel. In total we did 5,000 Kls this trip and I would do it again at a momnets notice and we would do it on Red bike so is a good alrounder. Am looking at gettign a corbin seat for her as I like the idea of that lip for the pillion Triange and amyself are doing a joint effort with this one and we will inform everyone when we get a result. Also Pete even if you have to spend a couple of bucks on the girl think of this, how mush would it cost you to step up to another bike which probably wont be as comfy or handle like your CBR I thoguth of goignto a Black bird or even a ST 1300 but old Red biek is comfy and **** it moves.
