RE: Longest Ride?
1120 Kilo's in 12 hours on one day, on the CBR, four fuel stops and a toilet break.
Ended up dehydrated and not feeling too well..........Bike was fine.....rode back same distance two days later..... Drank more liquids, had short 5 minute stops in between, took an extra hour, and was fine.So was Bike ....
Anyone who does 920 Kilo's on a GSX1100E in one day deserves big respect.

RE: Longest Ride?
Longest ride I've undertaken so far was to a motorcycle rally 1,595km away. Left Friday morning around 8am and arrived back home Monday morning at 1am. The return trip was done non-stop (fuel and food stops though). Left 10am Sunday morning and just kept going till 1am that night. Crazy - over 3200km all up. Did it by myself (no other riders came) and with a brand new un-testedtrailer on the back. Bike was my trusty old 1983 Kwaka GT750.

You beat me guys, I drove 880 km's from Kiel to Munchen last summer. The reaction become a bit slow the last 100 km. The average speed was well above 150 km/h with my GSX R1000 on a sunday with little traffic on the autobahn. Just a few quick stops for gas and refreshments.

RE: Longest Ride?
Well, I guess it depends on what you mean by the longest ride. In a single sitting, nonstop except for gas and food ? Or a trip over a period of lets say a week or so. When I picked up my 1000F in Sept of '05 it was in Minniapolis, MN (ebay purchase). I picked it up on a Friday night at 6PM. Sunday afternoon around 3PM I was back in S. Florida. I stayed in a hotel Friday night after riding for about 4 hours. Saturday night in a hotel as well,a little inside the GA state line. The ride was 1750 miles (2800km) total when I got home. I hadn't been on a bike in 19 years. I figured this was a great way to get back into it. I didn't know about wearing ear plugs while riding. It took a couple of days for my hearing to return to normal. I never really thought about wind noise before that.

You're a brave man, Idodirt, picking up an untested bike and doing your first mileage in 19 years IN THE DARK......
Did you have any company on the ride ? That makes a big difference, as noise, speed and concentration does things to my head after a while, riding solo, unless I have something else to focus on.
Michnet's just CRAZY, even for a man from Down Under.......Much respect due there !

It's events/trips like these mentioned in this thread that give us the memories we cherish from our passion of motorcycling, you don't get memories and experiences like these from road trips in a cage!

RE: Longest Ride?
I normally finish night shift have 2 hours sleep. My wife has the panniers packed I clip them on and off to Brisbane 600 Kls we do that in about 4 and a half hours with two loo stops and of course fuel spend the next 3 days there and then back home and the next day back to work so a 4 day shift break for me would be about 1500 Kls. The Bird just loves to stretch her legs have done 14,000 Kls on her since June last year and thats with a month off as we were overseas for a month.
