Default Leo Vince Titanium Cans - Anyone used them before?

Hi All

I am installing a pair of Leo Vince SBK Titanium Cans on my 1KF. Has anyone ever used them before? Care to comment? It taken from a Kawasaki Z1000. and I loved the sound. I was just wondering how two pipes would perform compared with my single Two Brothers?

I had a LeoVince carbon on my old CBR600F3 and was very pleased with it, and several of my freinds have Leo's on their bikes and they are very happy with them as well.
In my opinion they make someof the best sounding slip onson the market!
My old 600 sounded like a 1000 ccm

With two exhaust cans your bike would be likely to get more top end power, at the cost of low end grunt because of the lack of resistens in the exhaustsystem at lower revs, but being able to breat more freely at higher revs.
I use two IXIL slip ons myself wich are very big cans(118 mm in diameter), and on the dyne the powerdelivery is extremely smooth together with a VERY deep tone due to the two cans :-)

Conclusion: Leo's rock and so does twin exhausts [sm=icon_rock.gif]

Hope, the low end is not sacrificed too much. I have also ordered a Jet Kit from DynoJet and also installing a K& N Filter After which it will be Dyno Tuned.

Is the system dual muffler on stock downpipes? In such case you will gain power on the whole range and don’t have to worry about getting a weak midrange. Also, if you are using the stock downpipes there should be no need for rejetting. What could come into question though is to shim up (rise) the stock needles about a millimeter or two. The stock needles are friendly shaped relative the Dyno Jet needles. DJ needles are much harder to the unserviceable emulsion tubes, so many racers just refuse to use them. I had DJ needles on my -92 Hurricane and the needles where severely step-shaped due to wear, meaning they actually grinded the emulsion tube by their sharp uneven shape. So, don't use DJ needles until you really feel you must. Shimming the stock needles and change the main jet is enough for much more power than the new cans provide. Saying that doesn't mean your new system is bad in any way. If they are free flowing which I guess they can be, and the system you are using now is restrictive, you will feel a substantial increase in power. Maybe nothing really impressing on a calibrated dyno, but even modest power increases in mid range feels a lot more by the **** dyno, than the real numbers.

The information above would be the same also if you are putting a full system on, but in that case you could loose some of the bottom torque, but the overall gain is still so good that there is no reason to use the stock system if you really want power and don’t mind high sound levels. Personally, I just put in earplugs and use whatever is working well.

Always appreciate you sharing your indepth technical knowledge.

Anyway my present setup still have the stock down pipes so for the time being I am planning to keep it for the installation of the leovince cans. I am planning in the future toinstall a full system by fabricating a custom made stainless steel downpipes. Sounds like I don't need to get a Dj kit from your opinion. I heard from other friends it does not do much good.

I wanted it to be real loud sothehigh soundlevels is not reallyan issue.

"Bright lights and loud pipes" is what i want to acheive.

Hi All

Just fitted the pair of Leo Vince and also a K&N Filter (Friend gave it to me, his bike crashed) . Tuned the bike and balanced the Carbs - The power delivery is awesome!. As a matter of fact my bottom end torque improved tremendously and the bike actually feels light. And it is real LOUD!

that looks great! It gives a more modern look I think.

Did you fabricate the pipes from the cans to the downpipes yourself ?
