I need to ask, one day I read on a magazine, that the kill switch must be used every time to turn the bike off, so I wonder if this is true or it's just fine switching the key off.....just wondering.

Cheers!!

Why? I've never heard that. FWIW, I haven't used my kill switch for years now without a problem. That being said, I don't usually use the ignition switch either. There is a third way to shut her down, and I generally use this method, again without problems.

As far as I know the Kill Switch is a "Safety" device. Like it or not it serves a purpose. It's up to you weather you use it or not. Me.....More trouble than it's worth. That being said I have used it coming home after night shift on a weekend to shut the motor & coast into the drive trying not to wake the family. It's nice to let them have a sleep in too.

RE: kill switch ?

The kill switch was installed back in the '70's or '80's because in crashes the emergency teams could not locate the key to kill the bikes. It was most likely started here in the states and the bike manufactures just put them on all bikes. I never use mine asthere is no reason to touch it.

RE: kill switch ?

The reasoning behind a kill switch was so you could kill the engine without removing your hand from the handlebars thereby keep the most control possible in an emergency situation. That being said the only time mine gets used is when I accidentally hit it.
