Default Intro and Pics of new bike

Hello all.. I've lurked on here a while, and have finally bought the bike one of my buddies had. It's a 1987 1000f. It's in bad bad shape cosmetically, but the motor has 150 psi across the board, so i'm probably gonna either part it out, or keep it and get it running and turn it into a streetfighter....

Here are some pics... Comments/suggestions welcome... I have all the headlight/gauges/seat/tank, but all the plastics have been tore up, the tabs ripped off and some other damage. And as you can see, the rear subframe has been bent. Stupid 1 piece frame.

I'll be posting my progress in here in terms of pics and doing alot of research. If anyone has a extra frame that they'd wanna sell or even just the subframe, i'd appreciate it.

Thanks

Hi brveagle and welcome to the forum.

Yup, it's either a streetfighter or a parts bike you are looking at there. I guess it depends on time, resources and willpower! Whatever you decide to do, good luck with that.

I see a Kerker exhaust on that bike - I've not seen one of those before on a CBR1K. I have a soft spot for Kerker exhausts ( I had a 4-2 system on a CB750C a while back).

Feel free to post your location in your profile (so it appears in the panel on the left side).

Cheers

Thats a nice project that you have there. All the best with which ever way you go with it. If I was doing it I would probably try and get it back to its original condition, but this would depend on what fund and time you have. As a note, I think that the complete body kit, can be located in sheffield UK, and when I saw it, it was immaculate, just needed a new spray job. If you want contact details, if its still there I can forward them to you. Let me know. All the best, Oh, and he might still have the frame.
