i'm an idiot - centre stand problem
#21
My guess would be to bend the spring and insert coins in the coils. Then bend it the other way and insert coins. This would lengthen the spring. I have stuck other things such as screwdrivers but never thought of coins.

Coins to expand the spring? Too time-consuming and tedious.
Back in elementary school, they introduced us to pulleys and fulcrums.
* Take a wire and "twist tie" one end of it around the end coil of the spring.
* Open the jaws of an adjustable wrench to fit the outside diameter of
the lower cross-bar of the center stand.
* Take the free end of the wire and wrap it around the lower-throat of the
adjustable wrench (tighten it after moving wrench upwards).
* Pull down on the wrench and attach the hooked end of the spring on the
center stand's mooring.
By the time 2 coins have been inserted in one scenario, I'll have the spring on in my scenario
