I'm back! And still struggling...

Some of you may remember me from last summer. I purchased a 1994 CBR1000F which did not charge itself. If you'd like to skip the story and go to the question head the end of my post.

I diagnosed it as a bad R/R, replaced it with a cheap no name R/R which fried within 50 miles (don't recommend that to anyone), then replaced it with a ESR230 from electrosport. Fried two of those last summer, which they warrantied without question both times.

I've ruined another... same pin on the R/R. I've left out a detail, my connector has been poorly repaired in the past (also happens to be the same pin that keeps frying) and I can't find a replacement. Google searches for not only my bike but others that use the same R/R I've hunted used ones on Craigslist and eBay with no success.

Now I'm left with two questions.

Does anyone have a reliable source for replacement R/R connectors?

Or

Can I just ground out the white wire from the field coil when the key is on (or perhaps all the time since the positive is switched) and use a five wire R/R from another bike with a high enough amp rating or does the R/R cycle it on and off for some reason?

Thanks in advance for your help

Stefan
