Ignition Advancer

Ignition Advancer
I've now tested an adjustable ignition advancer on the Bird. The outcome is very satisfying. Even thoughthis is not expected to increase the maximum power, it makes the bike noticeable more responsiveon low rpm and midrange. If I cruise on 6th@4000 rpmand make a relatively small movement on the throttle, the fork stretches, as I don’t recall it did even on 5th before. The idle increased from 1600 to 1750 or 1800rpm, which shows that the engine produces more low-end power than before.
If there are ignition advancers available for the Cane, I highly recommend this mod. It requires good fuel though since the engine is less protected for pinging when the ignition is advanced.
I bought an adjustable advancer from FactoryPro and have set it to +3 degrees. Many Bird owners uses a fixed 4 degree advancer, which I didn't dare since the staticcompression is raised one unit on my bike, from 11 to 12:1.

RE: Ignition Advancer
If you look in the Allright catalogue you can see that they sell one ignition advancer to the cane - 525 sek. - but i don't think it's adjustable. The brand says Factory...can it be the same as FactoryPro ?
I've have often wondered if this would make a differance ?.....maybe you have to have a more "open" exhaust to sense the differance..........but then again it's not that expensive, so why not try it out. Maybe the adjustable model would be better so you could find the perfect "timing".
